The one good thing about having a brother like I do is that he is amazingly easy to shop for when holidays and birthdays come around. One of our neighbors gave him a pet rock once. I think he might still have it back home. I haven't asked in a while.

I'm still trying to get my new deck sorted out. It's a bit difficult and it's taking me a lot longer than I thought it would. But I'm not going to give up on it. I've been practicing that healing Lina taught me as well. I've almost got it, I'm sure of it.

I wonder what I could get my double for Christmas. You'd think it would be easy, since she's me, but we've had such different lives that we're kind of not in some ways. I don't want to just get her cards. That would be too easy, and just not right in some ways too.

At least I've still got some time to think about it.

I'm glad Mom's scarf wasn't really destroyed. Not that I regret smacking Jing over it, though. Or smacking him over what else he did.

I figured out why it upset me so much. I never would've thought about it if he hadn't done that, though. Or I wouldn't have for quite a while. I think I should've known anyway.

I wanted it to be someone else. Someone who isn't here. Someone who I hope is never here, but if I ever get home and can talk to him...who knows...it's worth trying anyway.

Thank goodness, I'm back to myself again.

I've been wondering a lot lately. This just made me wonder more. Did I really decide to be a teacher because I wanted to be one, or because there was nothing else I could be? Was it just an attempt to find out more about myself or was it something I really wanted? Was I just...settling? Everyone else is doing so much that's so wonderful and I'm...not.

I know being a teacher is important. But is it what I really want to do?

I don't know anymore.
